Please be sure to exercise your dog so they can go to the toilet before their appointment!

Arrival

During your first visit the following topics will be discussed

- How you would like your dog to be styled, ie breed trim, clip off, or just a tidy ect

- You will be asked if your dog is usually well behaved during grooming or if he/she has a tendancy to be aggressive. You will also be asked if your dog has any health problems or allergies ect - If your dog has a skin complaint and has a prescription shampoo from your vets then this may be used.

- A collection time for when your dog will be ready to collect.

- Your dog will be brushed out to remove any lugs and tangles as bathing a dog that has a knotted coat will tighten the hair making it harder to remove any knots/matts. Nails will be cuts, and ears cleaned/checked and plucked if necessary. NB If your dog is matted and brushing is impossible then it may be necessary to shave the fur off and start again.

- Your dog will then be bathed twice in a luxury shampoo suitable for his/her coat type, a conditioner may then be used depending on the breed of dog (ie - long silky, drop coated type dogs) and then thoroughly rinsed.

Show seasons clean - General purpose shampoo - suitable for most breeds

Show seasons Bright - whightening shampoo for white or light coloured dogs

Show seasons Ultra 84-1 - for the really dirty doggie

Show seasons oatmeal - For dogs with dry, itchy scurfy skin.

Show seasons Lavender - suitable for nervous dogs as lavender has a calming affect on dogs.

Conditioner - For those long haired breeds

Ridasect Flea shampoo - For dogs with Fleas and/or ticks or can be used as a precaution at customers request.

Should you request your dogs anal glands need empting, this will be done during the bath. He/she wil then be dryed using a high velocity blaster and then brushed whilst using the finishing dryer.

-  After your dog has been bathed and brushed he/she is now ready to be clipped/scissored into shape and is then finished with a conditioning fragrance spray.

- Your dog will then be placed into a pen and offered water whilst he/she waits for mum or dad to collect  them. - we do not put more  than one dog into a pen unless from the same home!

Nail cutting

It is important that your dogs nails are checked on a regular basis as long nails can cause great discomfort and even curl around and grow into the pads. If you dog is booked in for a full groom then this service is included in the price, If you require this service on its own then the price would be £4.95.
